Guest guest Posted January 5, 2002 Report Share Posted January 5, 2002 Well, I wound up in the ER again last night. Went to the bathroom & started bleeding rectally. Each time I wiped the paper was full of blood & clots. They did blood work & my blood count was 14.7. They put a tube down through my nose & there was no stomach bleeding so they sent me home telling me to come back if it starts up again. They think it might have been a hemorrhoid but there was blood everywhere. Thursday I had very very dark brown or black watery stool. They did call the Dr. from the hospital & my gastro guy & since I did not have any active bleeding in the stomach they could have kept me for observation & repeat the blood count in 6 hours but why bother. If there would have been bleeding they would have put me in ICU & done emergency upper & lower scopes. They still don't know about the lump in my face. I just don't know what to do anymore. I remember seeing a post a while back about someone that had bleeding & symptoms were masked because of the pred. I told them about the RP & high dose pred. They just don't know about the disease. This is so frustrating. I am off the Salsalate which I have been taking for the arthritis. My PCP was not real keen on me being on this with the pred because of the chance of a stomach bleed.
