Guest guest
Yes, my son wore two bands and both opened on the right, the same side as his plagio (flat on the right back and bulge on right forehead). I think I probably knew why they did that, but I can't remember it right now. If you get an answer from your therapist, it would be great if you could share it with us. Thanks! Guest guest
The velcro on my little guy's band is on the opposite side to his plagio. He has a left plagio, the velcro is on the right. His OT said they used to put the velcro on the same side as the plagio, but that they were seeing a lot of pressure points on that side, so they switched to the other side. My baby has torticolis. It's easy for him to turn his head to the left, but not to the right. this flippin' velcro really restricts his movements to the right. It's hindering improvement in his neck. They've trimmed the velcro back. this has helped, but is still frustrating. > > For those of you with DOC bands: > > > > Is the opening/Velcro on the same side as your child's Plagio? Guest guest
The velcro is on the SAME side as the plagio on our DOC Band. I see what you mean about the tortocolis, because I am glad it's on the same side - it makes it a little (just a little) less easy for her to roll to her " preferred " side. I'm sure there must be good reason that they have it on the opposite side though. They really seem to know what they are doing, at least in my experience at the Connecticut office. As far as the pressure points, I had seen them just after an adjustment too and had the same concerns. I was told it is just from the heat and that it was not going to hinder any growth in that area. ---- maria01508 <maria01508@...> wrote: > The velcro on my little guy's band is on the opposite side to his plagio.
