If you get the proper dose of hormones to bring your levels back up

to normal, you should be able to lose the weight by the usual methods

of diet and exercise (The Atkins diet is a particularly good one, but

it can be hard to stick to. However, the 15 pounds that I lost with

it haven't come back even after eating relatively high carb again.)

Get your hormone levels checked again to make sure that you are

receiving the right amounts. Also, try supplementing w/ adrenal

extract if you think your adrenals got depleted from being

hypothyroid (I need to start doing this myself). Good luck.

I know how you feel and there are a lot of other women on the list who

know too.I am 33 also and I always had a nice fgure, not skinny but curvy

in all the right places. Then I had my last child and that was it.I was

diagnosed two years ago and like you,it is all in my waist and hips.I

walk a mile everyday and I have started pilates.I am also on the Atkins

diet and I have lost 20lbs so far.The pilates seems to help stretch my

body out to a more " normal " form.I have only been doing the pilates a

couple of weeks but I see a change so you might want to try that along

with Atkins.I have tried everything, trust me,...hope this helps

you,Deneen:):)

Thanks Deneen....I have heard of pilates. Where can I learn HOW to do it? Is

there a DVD I can buy at Wal-Mart or something?? lol I know that alot of my

problem with the extra weight is chocolate and pasta! I love them! I have been

able to lose weight by cutting those two things from my diet but I can only go

withouth them so long and then the weight comes back.

Check out this site - she is the best. Although - if you have lower back

pain due to adrenal problems - this will be hard for you until that is taken

care of. Good luck.

need to be winsorpilates or are any pilate workouts good? Thanks for the

Thank you,Heidi,

I am very happy to finally find something that works. Many tears have

been cried over my weight and no one understanding how hard it is to

lose.People can be so cruel. The thought that those people who did not

support me and talked behind my back when I really needed them, keeps me

going to get this weight off.I will throw it in their face every single

day.I know that sounds rude but turn about is fair play as they say.

I'm at 230 right now. I'm heavy but my body is very proportionate so I've

gotten away with it. The doctor diagnosed me with 's Thyroid Syndrome

a couple of weeks ago and now I'm being weaned off of Armour and onto

Cytomel. Each Thursday my dose increases by 5mcg and I can actually feel

myself getting better. The first week, I dropped 3 pounds. I'm not hungry

all of the time either. I'm also being treated for adrenal problems with

Pregnenolone and Cytozyme AD. I'm beginning to feel so much better.

I think that Dr. Mc in New Albany Indiana has some hidden angel wings

under his shirt. His nurse hugs me every time that I come in and tells me

that everything is going to get better. He's a definite God-send. I wish

I'd found him four years ago.

So anyhow - keep up the good work - I'm hoping to be there soon.

Hiedi,

I am SO interested to hear about your experience with pregnenolone!!! I

have done so much research on this but have yet to find anyone to get

feedback from, or anyone who even know what the heck I was talking

about.I wish I had a good DR. like yours...I wanted to start taking it

but really didn't want to mess up my system even more than it already is

if it didn't work like my research claims it does.Any information about

it would be GREATLY appreciated as it really seems to be something I

want to try. Thanks,Deneen:):)

I'll start taking it this Thursday. I'll update you week by week. Doctor

said to start with 10 mg in the morning, then after a week, add 10 mg in the

evening and so on. I'll let you know how it goes. He prescribed it because

I have severe lower back pain and a menstrual cycle that lasts less than a

day. It's also supposed to help with decreased libido, which my husband

will love. I'll let you know.

It's a supplement in pill form. You can get it at any health food store or

GNC (if your in the US).

As for the doctor. Try the site below. That's how I found my Dr.

I think the ones who are treating s Syndrome are more understanding.

Try picking a doctor off of the s site. I have to drive 1 ½ hours to

see this doctor - but he is so worth it.

My doctor has started me on a cycle:

10 mg in the morning for 1 week

10mg/ morning and 10 mg/ night for 1 week

20mg/ morning and 10mg/ night for 1 week

20mg/ morning and 20mg/ night for 1 week

and so on. I don't know what the top dose is yet but I'll let you know.

Also, this course of action is a " CURE " for s Thyroid Synrome so I'm

not sure how long I'll be on them.

You need to go to a health foods/ natural store or try GNC. Watch the MG

though - most of them are 25mg or 50 mg and you'll have to cut them.
