I know exactly what you're talking about, my son didn't have it but I've seen it

with other babies. I want to say that maybe you can't focus on rounding out that

part, but that when the overall shape of the head shifts and also as they get

older, the temple kind of corrects on its own. I can't say that for certain, but

I've seen it enough to know it's not uncommon, and yet, it's not talked about

much, so I'm thinking maybe it does tend to take care of itself. But again, I'm

not sure. Does your son have tort too? It's amazing how facial issues can change

when tort is effectively treated with stretching, etc., so that might help. I do

think what your ortho says makes sense, since there are usually holding points

in the front/forehead/temple are of the bands. Have you noticed any change in it

at all since he was born?

When I expressed a concern that I wanted this to get symmetrical, my ortho said

that you can't round out the dipped in one because the helmet will just shift.

This is the thing that has bugged me since his birth. Anyone else got their

child's to get symmetrical? I don't see why we couldn't get both of them dipped

in then? Am I asking for the moon?

Well his head got really, really bad at 1 point, so that he rivaled the GIECO

cavemen, but repo made it much closer to birth pictures. Still there was no

change good or bad in the dipped in temple area. Yes, he did have tort. It

went and came back, but strengthening exercises keep it at bay mostly. I'm sure

hoping this will fix.

Thanks for the encouragement and you ideas,

Annie

My son's forehead dipped and after his 1st Doc Band, I have seen a huge

improvement. Now from the front, he looks almost normal. He had to get another

Band but his forehead looks really good. He started at 4.5 months of age and

was in it for about 3.5 months. His ears are also looking really good and his

brachy is almost normal. His plagio was severe but now it's moderate.

You aren't asking for the moon---I've been told my son is an average grower, so

after a few months, you'll probably see an improvement in his forehead. I think

your ortho is wrong b/c my son's forehead dipped (a lot) and it's gotten so much

better and my DPT at CT said it would probably improve after a few months and it

did. He looks great.

No, just time. It's hard but it takes time. He actually had his big growth

spurts before we put him in the Band. He's always been just an average grower.

Of course, we banded him early, so he had that advantage and grows a lot faster

than an older baby.

It took about a month and a half before I really started noticing his forehead

filling in, rather than just dipping down. Also, the growth moved to the side

of his head, temple and now it's filling in on the top and side towards the

back. There's a noticeable " dent " where his forehead filled in and the part of

his head (top to side) where it's still a little flat and will fill in and round

out, if you can picture that.

We go to CT and I am not sure b/c I have not used the other companies, but I

have heard that CT has the best results. I am not sure about this though. We

are happy with CT and the results so far. I wish his plagio numbers were better

but I guess the 2nd band will correct that.
