Guest guest
Please help. We're frying beet slices. The cuisinart that I borrowed can't get them thin enough and makes them too small so its like coleslaw sort of. I bought a mandolin that also looks like it will not get them thin enough and will be a lot of work to use. Another fellow mom told me to look for a ham slicer. What experience does anyone have with slicers other than the cuisinart? The only way I have been able to the chips thin enough is to meticulously slice the beets by hand. Also is there some sort of fry pot that might work better than my cast iron skillet? Something that maybe has a basket that is made to fit into it? Please help. I am spending so much time frying beets.
