Guest guest
Hi everyone! My son started his treatment for severe plagiocephaly (24mm asym.) and after almost 3 months his asym. has gone down to 9mm.. He still has 4 more weeks to go and my question is if it is reasonable to expect more correction in those 4 weeks to avoid a 2nd band? (At the beginning CT told us he would need 2 bands, now they are saying that he looks good and there is no need for a 2nd band). So I am very happy with the results so far... just hoping that his asym. goes down to the " normal " (2-3mm) is that too much to expect for only 4 more weeks in the band? Thank you so much for your help!!!
Guest guest
Congrats on the great results. How old is your son? Guest guest
That is GREAT improvement. Congrats! How old is he? Another big growth spurt could get you to where you want to be. Four weeks is a good amount of time, I think I would remain optomistic, but would not get your hopes up TOO high, just in case. Even if he got down to say 6mm, I really don't think it would be worth a second band at that point. My son finished around 5mm (at 2 years old), he's 2.5 years old now and you can't notice that little bit of asym unless I'm looking for it, and even then, only in the tub when his hair's wet and slicked down. With dry hair though, it's completely unnoticeable. Here's hoping he keeps growing these next 4 weeks! I think they told me he grew 18mm in the last 3 months, so I guess there is a chance of another growth spurt in the next month? > > > > Hi everyone! > > My son started his treatment for severe plagiocephaly (24mm asym.) and after almost 3 months his asym. has gone down to 9mm.. Guest guest
Hi , A big growth spurt is what I am hoping for, is 8 months 3 weeks now, so I guess my next question would be.. (is 9 -10 months a good time for a growth spurt? ) I know what you are saying about not banding him for a 2nd time, the Doc at CT tells me that he does not like to go by measurements because they don't really tell you how the head looks, he thinks does not need a 2nd band because he looks good. (or at least that the minimum correction that he will get with a 2nd band is not worth it). I think 5mm asym. is wonderful, but you know how it goes, the more we got the greedier we get.. > > > > Hi everyone! > > > > My son started his treatment for severe plagiocephaly (24mm asym.) and after almost 3 months his asym. has gone down to 9mm..
