first an update: seems like all the doctors in this town are stilll on vacation

(the

orthopedist, the regular doctor), so I ended up in the e.r. this morning. Dx for

the moment

is a muscle strain in my lower back. They gave me a shot of toradol which

helped

immensely. I also have been given Rx for vicodin and Flerexil and told to rest

for two

days. I need that much just to catch up on rest I haven't gotten from being in

pain.

I appreciate, but don't want to hear about how any of these drugs may not be SCD

legal.

Right now, I don't care.

But I do care about keeping the family SCD, so I have some questions that have

been

building. We're following BVTC with a strong eye on the phases from Pecanbread.

We did

two days intro followed by introduction of cooked carrots, green beans, homemade

applesauce, homemade pearsauce, ripe bananas. We having a little trouble

finding meat,

as we only do free range, organic meat and our weekly supplier had next to

nothing this

morning. (My husband went to the farmers market while I was in the e.r.)

so questions:

1) use of spices/seasonings? All we've used so far is salt.

2) ideas of what to do with broiled chicken wings----something I've never fixed

in life.

That's what we have for supper tonight. Anything to put on them other than

salt?

3) I don't see coconut on stages list. I want to make something like macaroons

when I'm

back up. They need a treat====sick of jello. I made cheesecake from BTVC

Saturday

night, but it's not something easy to whip up and I don't have any goat milk at

the

moment. Any other treat ideas?

4) I have BVTC, Grain-Free Gourmet, and Lucy's cookbooks. Just having a hard

time

seeing what we can have yet. Beef patties (ground beef and 1 egg) are getting

old and

boring--everyone is sick of the chicken broth. The recipes all seem to

complicated for

now (meaning, too many ingredients that we haven't moved onto yet). Any

in-between

ideas for what to do with meat?

It's hard to go slowly, but we are. No one is having any tummy trouble. I went

from

nothing to diarhhea last night, but I'm thinking this is related to all the

magnesium I was

taking. Or charcoal. It was very tarry.

What a way to end an email message!
