Guest guest
Good morning: Just thought I'd share a little of my postop experience with the crew: I was cruising yesterday on my liquids, feeling no pain. My husband and I decided to go over to the NC Museum of Art in Raleigh, to surprise my mother and daughter. (They were there on a little outing from Reidsville.) On the way there, I nibbled a few crackers, sipped some water...and commenced with a prolific bout of diarrhea for the rest of the day, on until bedtime! The discharge papers do remind us that diarrhea is to be expected in some post-ops for up to ten days. What I also discovered in the discharge papers is that drinking and eating simultaneously really, really isn't a good idea, and it's possibly what set up the diarrhea. I went back to sipping just Gatorade, stayed on my meds, and this morning I seem to be better. File this one away in " Things to Remember - Postop Possibilities " My abdomen is not really sore at all - still have a trace of gas roaming around in there, but I can sleep well on my stomach. That's all for now. Hope this helps someone fast approaching surgery. READ EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SURGERY TWICE!!! That's good advice.
