Guest guest
Antoinette's plight reminds me of those " how to " years. Those were the years when women's magazines ran our lives. They did " how to " to everything from catching and keeping a spouse to making the perfect casserole. They gave you twenty questions and then told you who you were and how you were doing. Fortunately even though society is more complicated technologically and politically, I think we are growing into being " Little Red Hens. ( You remember The Little Red hen? No one would do it for her so she did it herself!) SCD represents an artist " s array of tubes and tubes of colors except our colors are foods. How we choose, combine and use them is the palette and the end result will hopefully be attractive, tasty and nourishing. Sounds pretty, but when you have autistic children to tend, the paint barely dries before it gets smudged. You can't paint by numbers either. You have to create your own SCD picture as you gain experience. Ultimately you WILL be confident with the foods and develop a repetoire of meals that suit you, an entire SCD family or a mix of some on it and some not. Your SCD cannot be a rubber stamp of someone else's. Sinatra did it his way Fleetwood Mac sang: " Open up Everything's waiting for you You can go your own way Go your own way " Antoinette, time to go your own way! Carol F.
