Guest guest
Good Morning!!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! Well, my appointment on Wed. was very interesting. I never dreamed things could get worse. How much more can happen to one person. I am a little calmer today, but still flipping out a bit. To begin with the thyroid nodule is BIG as he described it. They did ultrasound on it and then he wanted to immediately get a biopsy, needle. Thanks goodness my cardiologist had mentioned to me last week about the endo MDs having to be extremely careful when in my neck region because they could poke a hole in my aortic graft and cause a major problem. He said I would be in big trouble if they hit it. When I mentioned this to the endo MD he actually took a step back. Also coumadin was an issue. Can they do a biopsy while on coumadin??? So I was sent for my lab work, 16 viles of blood taken and told to return in 1/2 hour. They had to meet with the blood and heart MDs and come up with the plan. I went for the blood work and then actually got in my car. I had had enough. My brother talked me into getting my ass back in there and hearing them out. They also found a growth on my adrenal gland. They said it may be the reason I feel like I have the flu and why my blood pressure is high. He said it may explain alot. That news left my mouth hanging open. Had no clue was a problem there too. Thats why he ordered all that blood work, he needs to see the results before determining a game plan for that. He also said they had to wait on the needle biopsy until my coumadin levels are down. I also mentioned the graft again,he said not to worry, they wouldn't poke anything that was pulsating. On my way home I thought, " Does a fake dacron artery pulse??? How can it if it is not tissue??? Maybe this large thing he is seeing is actually my graft leaning on my thyroid.. The area he concentrated on with the ultrasound is the exact area my cardiologists always goes to when checking the graft out. Sure don't want a hole poked in my graft, would probabaly require surgery to plug it up. So, I was told to go off my coumadin and as soon as levels are down I was to call him on his cell phone or page him. Once the levels are down he wants to do the biopsy right away. Never have been given an MDs cell phone number before, not a good sign in my opinion. A little tooo high priority if you know what I mean. Oh boy, things just keep getting funner and funner. Today is my echodoppler at my cardiologists, also have a 5 minute meeting after the echo to be sure what they are seeing is indeed a nodule and not my graft. Took me some quick talking to get such a short notice appointment. When I asked his nurse the questions on the graft thats all that it took. Oh, can't forget the stents in my pancreas. The pain is now dying down and we are leaving in as long as we can up to the 8 weeks. Then they will pull these out and put larger ones in. So thats my update. Will know if my heart valve is okay probably early next week. Will see cardiologist today before he has a chance to review the tapes. Please say some prayers for me. I really could use some heavenly intervention. Hello to everyone new, have been a little busy lately so not much cahnce to post. Thanks for listening everyone......
