First, THANKS everyone, for the welcome! I'm starting to get excited. I read

the file on showing the kid about the gut issues, and the WHY to do the

diet. This morning, on the way to church, we talked about how ALL of us

would do it, not just . He seemed relieved about that. But wants to know

how long we have to do, until everything will be good again. I don't have an

answer for that, but I want to do the tactile showing bit. I will wait until

all three are home to do it, so they can all understand the why's.

My question right now, is: Some say 3 - 5 days for intro, some say only 2

days. How do you know how long you should do it? We love homemade chicken

soup around here, so that will be easy. But no noodles, so that will be a

change. And we love to grill, so I'll be able to do that too. Actually, I

think the biggest change will be in snacks. No popcorn, chips, or brownies.

But I can still drink my coffee, and just add honey instead of sugar.

Joining this group has already gotten me pumped. I'm really nervous, as

we'll be headed to a vacation where they include all the meals in the

package, and I'm not sure what to do about that. Any suggestions would help.

I may call and ask how they can accomodate, as I know it's buffet style, so

maybe they will have plenty of things to keep us as close as possible.

Anyway, new life, here we come! Oh, and I think I'll be unloading a ton of

food to a friend in a day or two. :-) Oh, how about packing a lunch for

work, on the intro? I have a feeling my hubby will not be compliant in that

respect....

Do remember that the intro is only two days. It will REALLY help give him

a jump start on healing if you can make it through. If it's simply

impossible to stick to only intro foods for two days, you can go back and

re-do intro later. It's just ideal to do it at the beginning.
