Guest guest
Sorry it took so long for me to get this recipe (what we call receipts) but I keep it in a vault as it was writtin by my g- grandmother in the late 1800's. Bare in mind that the recipe is the same as most you will see today but back then there was only real butter; no prebagged processed pecans or unbleached sugar and vanilla was considered an alcoholic beverage. I use " techinques " that closely resemble how it would have been prepared before modern conveniences. People rave that mine are the best but I wont tell them my secrets; but I will let them guess from the same above clues. 1 stick butter 1cup flour 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 1 tablespoon sugar 1/2 cup chopped pecans xxxxxxx sugar Mix butter and sugar. Flour nuts and put together. Roll in small bars about the size of your thumb. Bake at 425 about 15 minutes. When done roll in sugar while very hot. Makes three dozen depending on the size of your thumb. I do use a mix master and have found that 15 minutes is too long in our ovens. Thats it no more clues...lol Enjoy and Merry Christmas Love Chrissy
