The same thing happen to me when I first was sick with lyme. My hair got

thinner and my hair dresser noticed it. With my recent relaspes I don't

really see the thinning. I think it's because I'm on tons of vitamins. Vit

C, Multi, Calicum/Mag, zinc, Q10 coenzyme, and taurine. I think it's helping.

Feel better,

I'm not sure if hair loss is a symptom of Lyme -- maybe someone else can

answer that question for you. But I do know that there are several drugs

that cause hair loss. I've had hair loss from taking Neurontin, and long

term use of Diflucan. You should ask your doctor is this is a possible

side-effect from your treatment.

Take care,

Hi ,

No, my hair has been getting thinner and thinner since LYme. I do know anti

inflammatories do it too. Even ibuprofen like Advil,

Hi ,

I have the same problem - loosing lots of hair. I wasn't sure if it was

related to LD, but then saw it listed on a LD Symptoms List (sorry I

don't remember which one). What does your MD say about it?

coming in THICKER.......ALL OVER..........so if lyme isnt getting you

coming......it'll get you going... ;-) lymebrain

Hi ,

I have heard of others having this same problem, usually in their first

year or two of Lyme disease, but it seems to go away and the hair does get

better with treatment. Talk to your doctor about this, maybe there is

something he/she can do sooner.

Hugs,

Marta

Hi , I have never heard of this symptom from Lyme. However Lyme can cause

the craziest of things so I wouldn't be surprised. has your doctor given you

an explanation for this? There is a stress related disease called alopecia

(sp) that causes hair to fall out. Just a thought. Feel better -Val

I have had Lyme for almost 4 years now and my hair has become much

thinner also and clumps have also fallen out. I have been told that it is a

symptom of Lyme.

My hair started falling out about a week after i got the rash. I still

have a drain full everytime i take a shower. I just hope it regrows at

the same rate or i am going to be bald.

Take care.

,

I don't know how long you have had lyme, but My hair fell out just before

I got diagnosed. And that was after three and a half years without any

treatment. After I started on antibiotics it took about 3 months and I

started noticing a difference. My hair started to come in heavier and it

stopped falling out. It most certainly is a Lyme symptom....Hugs

Hi all, Yes hair loss in another symptom of lyme. It was listed quite

regularly on the major list of symptoms a whille back, but now they have

moved on to bigger and better. Alot of women at the LD office are fat and

bald!!! (LOL) including me!

Keep smiling,

Gail

Hmm....I have not lost hair on my head but other places

are as bald as a baby's you know what. Simply and

plainly bald. It just happened and didn't grow back

though not completely bald in this area, enough so that

it's apparent and really strange. If I have to lose any, I

do prefer where it doesn't show to the world!

I too have had hair loss, but they tell me that's more from the Hoshimotis

thyroid disorder. Do you have a thyroid problem?

Hi Serenabee,

Everyone I know of who complained of hair loss with Lyme, seemed to have

it come back after treatment. I hope that is the same for you. I never had

that symptom fortunately, good thing, as my hair is thin enough as is.

Hi ,

I don't have much hair either, but each strand makes me so warm. I don't

know if it is lyme of menopause, but my head gets so hot, no fever, just hot.

LOL, you should see what I have on, trying to finish e-mail and get back to
