Guest guest
Hi again Chrissy! It's now nearly 2.00 am here and I've been reading stuff on the net about HP; that Chicago symposium on inherited pancreatic diseases which I mentioned a week or two ago. Must go to bed when I've posted this! One of the studies discussed at this symposium seems to put the cancer risk with HP at 33% rather than the usual 40%. Prof Neoptolemos told me about this study when I saw him last month. They also discuss the TP and the question of whether or not this should be suggested for HP patients. There are no easy answers. What is the purpose of a sphincteroplasty BTW? Why are they assuming yours has failed? Is its purpose to stop pain? Yes, I have this week " off " but I'm busy writing a bid for the school to get a lot more money under a particular funding scheme the Govt. has going at the moment. As it happens, I also had the last week of term at home to give me some time to get on with the bid; they take months to put together. The Govt. certainly makes you work for your money. There are so many hoops to jump through! They should simply give us the money and trust us to use it wisely for the students. No chance! I'll be going back on Jan.5th but the first day is an INSET Day (In-service training) for staff. You take care when you go back to work....not an easy job, yours. I'm ashamed to say I cheated with the caper sauce.....bought it! It was delish apparently. Not sure if a prawn is just a big shrimp! I'll find out! You can stuff the salmon with mushroom or leeks and cream but, needless to add.....I didn't do that one! Good night! Fliss
Guest guest
The surgery was for pain and the lack of enzymes being released, so since I've gained a few it must not have totally failed. But if I had to choose the one to keep...lol. The pain is worse then before; so thats why he wanted the scan, to see if anything else is going on. I read a good bit on that symnposium as well. Not the easiest reading to understand, but a lot of good information. 33% is much better odds, anything lower is. Well good luck with the grant, I have seen a lot of people struggling with that beurocratic hoop jumping, a lot of wasted time. Be a lot less expensive if they would just say, " ohh yeah you folks need some cash there dont you;; here ya go " . They know its got to go to you, so why all the shuffle sitting and butt kissing. I dont know, just cut to the chase. Must make them feel important. Salmon with mushroom creame,,,, mmm I like to grill it in garlic and lemonbutter... wonderful. Good lucking with the fund schemers.
