Guest guest
Hi, I have posted a couple of times. we are about a month SCD adn have continually run into snags. here's the latest. I am now convinced that my daughter and I have VEY high metabolism.. even before this diet, we eat and eat and eat and I stay thin, and she has difficulty gaining, weather it is that or not, we are having a bear of a time feeling full on this diet. I finally, after her losing more weigth than I was confortable with 5% of her body wiegth ( not to mention what my doctor would have said!)I was a a cross roads: go back to our previous diet.. very restricted, but including grains and potatoes, or go SCD leagal and just do the list. So I did the legal list, jumping into muffins with almond flour, bananas, which she can now toleerate and I tried some cheese.. didn't work and we can't do eggs. she gained wieght.. all is well, right? well, then she in the course of three days became absolutely obsessed with bananas and muffins.. so much so that I knew we were dealing with yeast.. oh and we have started the yogurt, previous to this and she has formed stools, they just have tons of almond on them. So I know I need to do something.. but what? If I dorp the almonds, most of the fruit then she is left with only meat and veges... she literally won't touch squash anymore of zuchinni did the squash to death in the first three weeks. So my questions are this I hear on this board that people do this deit egg free dairy free and nut free.. but how in the ( bleep) do you get enough food to sustain yourself, and how could I possibly get a toodelr to eat it? She is a GREAT eater, she will try lots of things, but quite frankly I have learned to eat because the food is there, and not always because I want to eat it. toddlers don't work that way. She is such a sport about all of this.. this is not a behavior thing. I have changed this kids food and taken away her " favorites " more times thatn I ahve changed her diapers it feels like. adn what do you think about yeast and these muffins: I use the basic recipe in BTVC, except I use squash and avacado adn then pear /prune sauce ( homemade) in place of honey. would these promote yeast growth? OH, she won't touch pear sauce, or other cooked fruits. sigh. I have tried everything. she is only up to about 1/4 cup yogurt a day if that , more like a 1/8 cup, so doing cooked fruit with that is out. I am limiting to 1 to 2 bananas a day, and starting legal acidophilius as soon as it arrives.meat and veges don't give a person the stuff to add wieght.. that's diet, like lose weight diet food. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks Ellen
