Hi Lilly, all I've been looking into Lilly's problem with YAHOO, and a number of other members as well. I think some ISP's (Internet Service Providers) recently " upgraded " some of their automatic spam- blocking/filtering software, and for some reason, it seems to be blocking message traffic from the various YAHOO! groups. I came across a recent message in a list-managers' forum that indicated that " RoadRunner " in particular (a popular cable-based DSL provider) is on that has recently been having problems accepting YAHOO! messages. I think I've got Lilly's account reactivated, and I've also found about a dozen more members with " rr.com " e-mail addresses that had been put on the " bounce " list and have reactivated them as well, but members may have to set something individually on their ROadRunner accounts to allow YAHOO message group traffic, or this may happen again. This all was set off by the recent rash of virus/worms that began cirulating, and various ISP's increased their efforts to block these malicious attacks. Unfortunately, in so doing, they have inadvertantly cut off access to various message board groups for lots of users. Here's the message I found on the Manager's forum, including a link where RoadRunner subscribers can go to fix their individual e-mail addresses to " un-block " YAHOO messages: -------------------------------------------------------------------- From: " bdbrill " <bbrill@s...> Date: Mon Feb 23, 2004 11:44 am Subject: RoadRunner MailBlock and RoadRunner cannot seem to play nicely together. I wonder if the problem could be that each has instituted new virus/worm protections. I'm a list owner who uses RoadRunner. About a week or so ago, my own Yahoo Groups account bounced. I went to the URL that RoadRunner listed http://security.rr.com/mail_blocks.htm#security where I clicked the " removal " clickable link. Then I went back to Yahoo Groups, requested a reactivation notice, received it, replied instantly. The whole matter was resolved within an hour. But I cannot seem to get my own groups' subscribers to do that. Just prior, I had the entire bouncing section cleared. Now this! 38 bouncing. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Hope this helps. Let me know if anyone knows of any other members that have not been able to access the YAHOO! message board, and I'll see what I can do to help.
