Guest guest
Hi , Sorry, I didn't finish my post properly. You don't say if you are taking enzymes? If your specialist thinks you have CP, he or she may prescribe enzymes. Their purpose is to aid digestion and therefore help to stop the malabsorption. Of course, if CP is not the main suspect in your case, or if the specialist thinks the malabsorption is not there or is very mild, then enzymes might not be prescribed. The point is that a lot of people find them very helpful with digestion and, therefore, with weight gain. It's something you might at least want to discuss. It's difficult to know what to advise to put on weight. I tend to eat baked potatoes and also rice. These are low in fat but high in carbs. Another staple for me is bananas. I hesitate to mention things because you have a dietician who knows your case. I could be saying the wrong things. I haven't tried special food supplements or replacements but a lot of people on this board have and I'm sure they'll help. Have you talked to your GP about the weight problem? Have you long to wait for your next specialist appointment? You obviously want to get this sorted. Maybe the causes of you not being able to eat much could also be tackled. Clearly that would help. Sorry not to be more helpful. Good luck again, , Fliss
