Guest guest
Good Morning!!!! Well it's been 3 weeks today since the stent was placed in my pancreas. Normally the pain dies down within a couple weeks. Tried to stop the pain meds on monday but not ready yet. Doubled over and started throwing up. Took me 24 Hrs to get things back under control. Once the pain gets so bad takes me days to calm it down. U of C MD concerned, says pain should be dying down now. He is calling IN MD this am to come up with the plan. Not sure if they will leave in for the 6-8 weeks that the original plan was or pull now. Will find out later today. Saw my cardiologist for my 6 month checkup on Tuesday. I didn't like the way it went. It began fine but once he did his checkup things got weird. In the 15 years since I have been seeing him he has never ordered a test AFTER an appointment. He also made a comment that left me wondering. He said he will be real upset if they, GI MDs, wrecked my heart valve. He used wreck in a past tense. He told me to schedule an echo and blood work ASAP, and two days after the echo I was to call him and we would talk. I asked, " What are you hearing and thinking? " His parting comment, we will talk when I have the test results. Mmmmm..... So next week will be a fun filled week. Monday blood work scheduled, Wend I see the thyroid MD at U of C about my thyroid nodule, and Friday is my echo. Maybe the GI mds will schedule fun things too... I'll tell you what, when it rains, it pours. Oh well, what can you do. I'll tell you one thing, if my heart valve is bad I will most likely flip out. How much can one person take. Oh and to top it off, I was told in no uncertain terms, that I CANNOT have any surgeries on my pancreas. He said the pancreas bleed alot when operated on and because of my coumadin I would either bleed out or stroke out. He said after the operation I would most likely bleed, therefore they would have to pull me off the coumadin for an extended period of time to get the bleed under control and then I would have a stroke. I am very high risk for strokes when off my coumadin. Being a vegetable is a life I wish to avoid. So I guess I can take surgeries off my plate. So I will continue my research on a more permanent stent. Thanks for listening.... Love W Wisconsin
