Guest guest
Dear Heidi, You are right! When I went back and re-read your old post to me I saw where you laid it out clearly that your Chronic Pancreatitis came a couple of years or so BEFORE your pancreatic burnout and brittle diabetes. I feel so foolish. I'm sorry that I mixed it up. I guess like said the other day, " narcotics make me dumb! " Also, my printer is broken and I used to print out messages so I could refer back to them easily while typing my reply without mixing up dates and names ect. Please forgive. But your sure right about that being a very sudden panc. burnout and brittle diabetes diagnosis. It sounds like it almost took your life! Gosh. You and your family must have been in shock when you were well enough to understand what had happenned to you so suddenly. My diabetes is not as severe as yours and like I stated before, it was a good six years after my C.P. diagnosis in 1990. As far as the vision issue goes, have you had any bleeding in your eye requiring laser treatments? My neighbor is 66, has had brittle diabetes, type one, since age 28, and has had alot of that eye trouble and even had to have a kidney transplant, which her sister most lovingly provided. She has a hard time of it, but provides me an excellent example of keeping a positive attitude and putting problems I have in perspective. Can't always live up to that example, I feel lonely and blue at times like when I see healthy friends having a good life and enjoying themselves, but we all have our own burdens and there is always someone who has it worse than I do, so I really do try to keep things in perspective and avoid the blues if possible. Sending and recieving e-mail here is a big help in that department. It always brightens my day when I see a reply so I can re-reply. :-) I do hope that Carole got my e-mail and will reply soon. She seems so much better than I remember from before which really makes me happy! Like you said so well, we are all individuals with different case histories and symptoms even though we have the same disease. How true! Again, I'm sorry for my goof. I really do get things confused sometimes which another good reason for me not to drive, and to get my printer fixed. Be as well as you can be. I'm sorry that you've had such a rough time of it. It's nice that you have your husband there to support you as you deal with your disease.
