Guest guest
Hi all, been a long time since I've posted here, but I've been reading most of the posts. For those of you who don't remember me or know me, I'm Carla. I've got 2 sons, Shay 4 1/2, ncf and Dallas, 2 1/2 wcf. Dallas had been doing fantastic for a long time, but I've noticed he's getting junky again. He goes for clinic next week, and I won't be surprised if it's tune up time. He hasn't been in the children's hospital for 2 years, so we're doing pretty good! Other than that, not much new in my life. We moved last summer and I've been so much busier in our new town. I find the people here are so much more open to learning about CF and helping out when we need it. Even the kids are great. They see that Dallas is special, but it's no big deal to them. I wish everyone could be that easy going. They see me give him meds, ask what they're for, then say " Oh, OK " and keep right on playing! The only problem we've had..which actually really surprised me, was putting him in daycare. I went in and trained all the staff, and go over everything everytime I drop him off. They still seem to be totally clueless when it comes time for meds. It surprises me, because we've got one of the top daycares in the country. I would have thought they'd be better at dealing with special needs kids. Anyone have problems like this? I don't have Dal in fulltime, just one day every 2 weeks for mommy sanity time and playtime for him. He's gotten extremely clingy and separation bothers him so much. I decided he'd better get used to the idea of someone else having to care for him, since he doesn't remember hospital stays. When he does go in, I can't be with him 24/7. Well, all in time I guess I hope everyone is having a happy healthy day! Carla
