MRSA = methicillin resistant staphloccus aureus

Even though methiciilin isn't a common antibiotic used anymore,

resistance to methicillin is indicative of the staph a. bacteria being

resistant to a multiple number of other antibiotics.

Generally swabs are done of the nasal and anal membranes ... fast and

simple procedures, and they usually give a person instructions and let

them do the anal swab themselves.

In CF, sputum is the more common place that MRSA is cultured from. It

can be grown in the sputum without being found on the skin or in other

membranes.

Hmmmmm. I just checked again and learned there is more than one

spelling. I guess I was also right the first time.
