Guest guest
n, Nice and encouraging post. My Venanzio worries me to death, he is having a hard time learning how to read. We held him back last year because when he finished his first time aroung in K his teacher had a heart to heart talk with us. She felt Venanzio was too immature to go on into first grade, we did too. He was not interested at all in school, but this past year toward the end he really started trying, and was very concerned that some kids in his class were already reading. He is sounding all his letters and doing some blendings but still it takes a lot out of him. On the other hand adding and substracting comes really easy to him. a is totally the opposite, both of them were born in the summer so they were one of the youngest in their class, she doesn't have any problems with reading, writing, spelling, she is really good at them, but she hates math, go figure. Recently I read a book called " Unicorns are real, A Right-Brained Approach to Learning " , and Venanzio fits the right- brained child to a T. He is very artistic and loves to color and very good at colors schemes. Well, that's the story with my kids, you are so right everybody is different.
