Guest guest
Fliss, Believe it or not, I've been answering messages and reading the message board since after lunch - and now it's 5:00 pm! Two days away from the message board is a killer! Yes, the Lidoderm patches are separate from the duragesic patch. The duragesic patches that I wear are 75 mgs. of fentanyl that are delivered transdermally into and underneath the skin. These Lioderm patches are treated with 700 mgs. of Lidocaine that are applied directly to the painful area, and just enough of the medication (5%) penetrates to reach the damaged nerves under the skin that are causing the pain. There is little risk of side effects, and only minute amounts of the medication is absorbed into the bloodstream, provided that you only wear it 12 hours or less and don't use more patches than prescribed. Since I've just started using them, I haven't really had enough time to see how effective they will be. I do know they have helped the shoulder blade pain. In fact, after sitting after the computer this long this afternoon, I've just had to put one on for the back pain. So now I've got two different types of patches...sure to confuse hubby when I ask for help! I already told him that I'll have to " schedule " the back pain for only days that he's home, because I can't reach the area on my back by myself where they do the most good! You've probably already missed this post tonight, so I hope you slept well and I wish you a good morning! With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina SC & SE Regional Rep. Do they have a different target area, do they work differently or are they to supplement the duragesic ones?
