Guest guest
And I'm fine, except I can't stay awake! Karla told me on Saturday that she tried to check in on me on Friday night but I was asleep. I have continued to be asleep most of the time! All my life some medications seemed to not affect me at all and others threw me for a loop--guess the anesthesia threw me for a loop! I'm sorry I didn't let everyone know sooner, but I just couldn't stay awake. I still fall asleep if I sit still for more than 1-2 minutes. , (she looked great!), and Karla (wish I looked that good the day after surgery!) came by and checked on me. I found a note from my daughter--apparently they were there when I came out of surgery, but I don't remember them being there. I told them lots of weird stuff. Then I apparently called home Friday night, rather irate because they hadn't stayed--but I don't remember that either! I drove home from the hospital with my 16 year old beside me (just in case) and my husband in another vehicle in front (I had driven myself in and we had to get my van home). I was absolutely fine until I got here. Then, within 15 minutes or so, the gas pain struck. Left shoulder and entire stomach. Miserable. Sure would have been nice to have the Demerol pump then! Sent hubby running to the drugstore for Vioxx, and walked a circle in my house until he got back (I heard walking helped). The pain in my shoulder had gone away, and the rest had subsided somewhat by the time he got back. I took a Vioxx and slept for about 5 more hours... Anyway, I'm fine. Not hungry or anything. Poor family is trying to hide & eat so they won't upset me...the Bojangles chicken didn't faze me, and neither did the pizza (which I LOVE), however, the eggs this morning made me wish I was past the liquid stage! Long post, I know. I'll shut up now. And go back to sleep. Kathi
Guest guest
Hi Kathi!!! So glad to hear that you are home! I've been worried. Benadryl affects me like that. I just can't stay awake when I take it. That's the biggest problem that I have with surgeries. I have had to stay overnight on same day proceedures before because I just could not wake up!!! Sleep well, and keep us posted on how you are doing. Thrill to know you made it through safely! Stormy > And I'm fine, except I can't stay awake!
