Guest guest
I still remember the first time I had the unfortunate experience to be standing next to a patient giving them him and his wife discharge instructions and it happened, I had absolutely NO indication it was going to happen brhtttttttttttttttttttt. What to do?????? Act like it didn't happen ...... say I have pancreatic problems and I just ate and this always happens after I eat or laugh. They just looked at each other and not a soul said one word. I don't know if it is because we have some gastroparesis ( decreased motility) of the stomach which causes basically the food we eat to just sit there and rot, which causes increased gas. I can't predict when it will happen I can be walking and all of the sudden my husband will say " Well I hope you feel better " and honestly I didn't know it was going to happen. Once in the summer I had first degree heart block and had to have a stress test and I stood up to get in the wheel chair and yep you know it so when I made it into the room with the cardiologist before I started the test I just said look guys I don't have alot of flatulence control so if you hear something you have been warned. Thank God it didn't happen but the Dr. just said OK. My theory is better warned than embrasssed. It saves alot of humilation in all areas.
