Guest guest
This is what worked to get me approved w/ Aetna: I went to my PCP with a copy of what Aetna requires and told her I needed her help completing this step. I saw her once a month, she weighed me, took vitals and she documented my diet, excercise and behavior modification. I did this for six months and then she submitted the paperwork to my surgeon. Aetna was satisfied with this and I was approved. I only lost 6 lbs during this time but that wasn't really important, the main thing wast that it was documented by my PCP and that is what satisfied Aetna. There is a yahoo group for AETNA people wanting to get approved for WLS. It was very helpful and I got a lot of great information there. Good Luck, it is a frustrating journey.
