Guest guest
And if you bake your bread dough in blobs, it only takes about 20 minutes at 325 or so to bake! Then you can slice and dry. Makes nice small 'melba toast' for saving or crushing.AmeliaTo: BTVC-SCD Sent: Sun, January 24, 2010 10:29:29 PMSubject: Re: recipe I just made... easy, fast, yummy, and lots of leftovers At 04:07 PM 1/24/2010, you wrote: You can also use these bread crumbs for fish or anything else you like breaded. Great idea. I can tell you that I cheat. I mix my seasonings with plain almond flour, coat the chicken and fry, and it turns out awfully good that way, too. But if you like "real" bread crumbs, I'd recommend baking several loaves, slicing it, drying it, and then store the crumbs in pint or quart bags so you don't have to bake bread before you can start making whatever your chosen dish is! — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
Guest guest
What's the advantage of using bread crumbs over say dried almond flour? > > > Turned out awesome!! > > > > Take the lucious bread recipe from BTVC and make a loaf. Then cut it into slices and dry them out in the oven/toaster oven until they are dried and crispy. You're going to be making bread crumbs out of these so get the bread dry so you can make crumbs out of it. I put the dried bread slices in a bag and then rill them with a rolling pin to crunch them up into crumbs. You can make extra because they keep very well. Once you have bread crumbs you can season them with whatever you like... salt, pepper, garlic powder, cumin, ect. Then, take some chicken breasts (skinless boneless). Crack and egg into a bowl and beat it. Dip the chicken breast in the beaten egg, then into the bread crumbs you just made. Now, put the breaded chicken boobs into a pan with olive oil and fry them to crisp them up a bit on both side. They don't have to be cooked all the way through. > > > > Take a some of your favorite tomatoe sauce (legal canned or home made) and layer the bottom of a caserole dish/glass dish with the sauce. Now put the fried breaded chicken breasts on top of the tomatoe sauce. Take some of your leftover tomatoe sauce and put it on top of the chicken. Now grate some fresh parmasean cheese and stick it on top of the chicken/tomatoe sauce. I like to use alot because I love cheese but put on as much or as little as you like or can handle. Bake it in the oven at 350 for 35-40 minutes depending on how big the breasts are. Time varies so if you're not sure cut the thickest one in half to check. > > > > > > TADA!!! Parmasen chicken.. Guest guest
T- Thanks for the recipe! I tried it last night and it was delicious - the bread crumbs really added to it as I have tried using almond flour before and it kind of burnt and didn't add anything to the chicken! My husband and kids loved it!
