Guest guest
Unfortunately, if you can't change his shampoo, you might just have to deal with the smell. We used Suave for kids in Blueberry, it has a strong smell and would mask the dirty locker smell pretty well. You actually do get used to the smell eventually. Also, once they start shaving some of the nasty foam out at each visit, it's not quite as bad either. There is a mint flavored rubbing alcohol, but it's not always recommended because it might irritate the skin or discolor the foam (cause it's green). You could ask about it though. Jake-2.5 (DOCBand Grad 9/08) Jordan-5 > > Saturday was Lincoln's first 23 hour on 1 hr off day. Now when I am taking his helmet off his hair spelled like sour throwup (my husband said it smelled like body odor) so we bathed him and washed his head good and left it off for the hour. We put some hydrocortizone on his forhead cause he had 2 little spots that looked like the start of heat rash and thats what my hand out said to do for heat rash but his hair stilled smelled and this morning I took it off for a half hour tops to check his spots and it smelled all over again and he didnt wake up as sweaty as normal just a little sweat on one side of his forhead. I cant change soaps because he has bad ezcema and so we have to use this huggies non scented hypo allergenic stuff that normally makes him smell great. What can I do to make him not smell?? >

We use the same on inside of the band. We get a washcloth super wet and lather and rinse it a few times and wring it out. Then we scrub the inside of the band without the washcloth being super wet. As soon as I'm done scrubbing it, I start to dry scrub it with a towel to soak up any wetness. Once it's semi dry, I use the alcohol. We're using left over alcohol wipes from 's belly button care but I haven't found the 90% alcohol. The stink is just lovely, isn't it!! I jokingly told my friends, hey if you smell something, it's not b.o., just my kids' head!! -Nikki mommy to M and --almost 6 months old, positional plagio with Doc-Band>

Guest guest
I'm not sure if this will help with the smell of hair, but my husband came up with a great idea to clean the band (not sure if this has been stated in the past...or if it's not a good idea, please let me know:) We put 91% alcohol in one spritzer bottle and water in another spritzer bottle. We spray the inside of the helmet with the alcohol first, wipe it down, let it dry, then spray it with water and wipe it down and wait for it to dry. It's easier than putting the alcohol on a towel or rag and spritzing the band with water allows you to clean off some of the alcohol residue while not getting the foam soaking wet. > > > > > > We have been doing a " no no " , with attempting to also wash the inside of the band. also has eczema so we've been using Aveeno baby wash. Guest guest
I just discovered the spray bottle trick, but we only use the alcohol. It's much easier to get on the helmet that way and it's also quicker to clean. We weren't having trouble getting the stink out, but since we were traveling, I decided to put some alcohol is a travel size spray bottle and buy the alcohol when we got here. I'm sorry I didn't discover this trick until nearly 5 months along. , mom to , 19.5 months 20.5 weeks in STARband plus CST (Grad date set for May 11th) land Re: Hair Smelling like dirty feet even after washing hair I'm not sure if this will help with the smell of hair, but my husband came up with a great idea to clean the band (not sure if this has been stated in the past...or if it's not a good idea, please let me know:)We put 91% alcohol in one spritzer bottle and water in another spritzer bottle.
