Guest guest
SmarterCookie, I just have to share with you that I too have been on this site for almost a year now. I come to it just about every day. Before I had my surgery (Lap 5/17/03) I was motivated by looking at the before and after pictures everyone posts. Now since my surgery I've lost 128lbs and still come just about everyday to learn something new. I don't have any information on the psych evaluation because with my insurance they didn't require it prior to the surgery. I wish you the best of luck, sometimes the anticipation is overwhelming but I'm sure you'll come through it with flying colors and be very successfull. Guest guest
Hi everyone! I'm new and this is my first post. I have been reading the posts for the last few weeks though. I'm 36, divorced, single parent of two. My BMI is 45, 130 lbs. overweight. I've thought about GBS for about three years and have been serious about it since this past October. I have been to a seminar and am approved for the consultation with the surgeon. I go for my psych eval this Friday. What is the psych eval like? I know that it is about 500 questions. I believe it's called a MMPI. I can't find the exact questions on the internet, just kits for sale. I've been told that there are some pretty off-the-wall questions, but one never knows exactly how much to believe of what you hear! Should I be concerned about the fact that I am on Paxil? Will this matter to the psychologist? My divorce was finalized a year ago, so I hope this isn't an issue either. I have returned to school and will graduate next year. My future has me excited. Especially, if I am in better shape and healthier and able to enjoy it more! This is a wondeful site...it is so helpful to talk with and read from others who have already gone down this road.
