Guest guest
I have Celiacs/Candida overgrowth and have been one of those that gains weight. Since I started the diet I have gained 4 more pounds. I'm not really sure what I am doing wrong. Perhaps I am eating too much DCCC (?) 8-16 oz. per day (but I feel like it is the only filling thing I can eat right now) I use the lowfat goat's milk for yogurt and have not been eating any fruit/honey. However, I was not eating much if any meat prior to SCD and am now eating meat as well as lots of veggies. While I have a lot less pain in my stomach, I feel pretty lethargic and have very low energy. I am a runner and have been able to run 1/4 of what I used to run and very slowly--which I am okay with, but didn't really want to gain more weight. Are these symptoms normal? I am thinking of cutting out the cheese and eating less meat (and possibly trying fruit again) but more than anything I just want my stomach to heal so I don't want to do something to prevent it from getting to it's best. I've been doing SCD for about 3 weeks now. Cindy SCD 3 weeks Candida/Celiacs - 10 years??
Guest guest
I think it may be the DCCC. I ate it at every meal because it was well tolerated and is great slightly melted with butter, honey and cinnamon. That sounds like a lot to me but in the beginning, it can be hard to find enough fruits/vegetables to add in. There is a method of finding x amount of fruits/veggies you can tolerate and rotate it until you are well enough to start adding in other foods. That way you don't eat too much of one thing. A lot of people get into trouble with the peanut butter, almond butter or pork rinds. I'm like you as far as liking the DCCC. If you have a plan every week (Kim M. is great with this as well as the other moderators) then you won't eat so much of one thing to make up for the difference. I ate baby lima beans, carrots, yellow squash for a long, long time it seemed like. But at least I was getting real food to stay... Everything in moderation, a lot of people eat pumpkin, butternut or acorn squash, peaches, apples, etc. Pecanbread.com also has stages which work for some but use caution.
