Guest guest
Hi All, I was reading your posts about gallbladder problems. I just had mine removed last friday. I had my GB on 2/12/03 and didn't have any problems with my gallbladder until mid. Jan., then I was hit with a sharp stabbing pain on my right side under my rib cage, went to the ER, turned out to be biliary colic, had a ultrasound done and gallstones were confirmed. I went through one more gallbladder attack, this time the pain was so severe they gave me morphine in the ER and discharged me with vicodin. I got sick of the pain, consulted my GB surgeon and elected to have it taken out. The Dr. took it out laparascopically. Pain was minimal, it was an outpatient procedure. I had the surgery at 11am on fri., hour and half long, then spent an hour in recovery and was discharged before 2pm. The scarring is minimal as well. Hope that helps answer questions. Sincerely, Marla RNY GB 2/12/03 360/216/
