Guest guest
For any of you who are where I am in the precertification process with Aetna HMO, I have found out the difference between the 3 month weight loss attempt and the 6 month. In their requirements you have to have, along with other factors, a 6 month " Physician-supervised nutrition and exercise program " or a 3 month " Multidisciplinary surgical preparatory regimen " . I could not tell what the difference in the two since on one your doctor is working with a nutritionist and the other you are working with a nutritionist and the 2 sounded a whole lot alike. Well... the difference is not much. You have to do 6 months if you are going to your doctor to have it documented and insurance will pay for it. If you decide to go to a nutritionist for the same information you only go for 3 months, but you have to pay for it. So I guess it is a matter of what you can pay for and how quickly you want it done. Dora
Guest guest
Dora, My husband only saw a dietician once and did the 3month. We saw his PCP once a month for 3 months. As you know he was approved in a little over 24 hours with Aetna HMO. Aetna Paid for everything but our 10 dollar copay for the PCP. The dietician was paid for because of his high blood pressure. We paid for nothing but the copay. Andra DH Lap RNY April 8th ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the Internet in years - Juno SpeedBand!
