Guest guest
Kris, I had the same problem and found out than iron deficiency was the cause. You may want to have your labs done. Congrats on your excellent weight loss!!
Guest guest
thanks for sending this, Carol. I had read it a couple of years ago, but forgotten where I saw it. I have fallen asleep in mid sentence, face first in my dinner plate, asleep at my desk & literally while eating. Food in my mouth & all.. Yes I have even fallen out of my chair & off the toilet. My blood sugar is ok & so is my thyroid. I found this wonderful article that expresses very well the issue of exhaustion. You will find it here www.butyoudontlooksick.com/the_spoon_theory Moving the elephant out of the way before each step of a task is sooooo true!!! Even when the exhaution improves it seems like it never really goes away. Remember that Pred. can cause Diabetis which can also affect your energy levels. Make sure your Dr. keeps a close eye on your blood sugar. It sucks when you have to rest up to sleep. Thanks very much for addressing the issue of exhaustion. All this time I thought I was alone with this symptom. Carol Windows Live™ Hotmail®:…more than just e-mail. Check it out.
Guest guest
The spoons story did help me put it in perspective. Thanks for that. Yesterday symptoms of a definite flare began (which is why I think my exhaustion has been so bad lately). My eighth nerve is involved which causes extreme vertigo and loss of hearing. Both began in earnest yesterday. My right eye is also blurry. The optic nerve has been damaged in past flares and is probably taking another hit now. I am taking betahistamine, hoping to keep the symptoms under control without additional prednisone. I get my Remicade on Wednesday and am confident that will make the flare subside. I get Remicade every 5 weeks now. It's been a struggle stretching it that long but my internist is quite worried about my immune system. I've already almost died from a rare herpes pneumonia - probably resulting from Remicade. We are all stuck between a rock and a hard place aren't we?
