Guest guest
Sky,You know I was aware that I had some symptoms, but because my doctor tried upping my dose and it caused my free T4 to go too high, I thought I just had to live with it. I have asked for a free T3 test, but she always seems reluctant and gives a lame answer that implies that she would know if something were wrong based on the TSH and free T4. I always felt that was rubbish, but because I was managing o.k. I didn't do anything about it. I need to just ask for a letter of introduction to 'go private' (I live in the UK and yes, you must have that letter of introduction to see a physician off the NHS). After reading all that info today, I realized just how low I was getting. I feel almost, not quite, as low as I was after I had the surgery and the specialist said there was nothing to be done as I was in the 'normal' range (TSH just under 5, when before surgery my TSH was 1.8). I did a lot of research then and convinced my GP to prescribe it for me. I ended up moving shortly after another specialist (private again) got me 'sorted.' Unfortunately, I didn't stay sorted and have felt this slow decline for the last 5 years. Try convincing a Dutch doctor that you don't feel right! These are the people who believe pain is natural and do not give (doesn't happen, no choice) any relief during child birth or root canal surgery! Thanks for sending it. I will definitely do something about it now. I am only 45 but feel I am going on 80!AmeliaDate: 26 January, 2010 4:20:48 GMTTo: Amelia Bhide Subject: Re: Re:Re: S. boulardii question Hi Amelia I just knew it. Those symptoms sound like you are very hypo. You need to buy this book it is a lifesaverhttp://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/book/'>http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/book/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/long-and-pathetic/'>http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/long-and-pathetic/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/t4-only-meds-dont-work/'>http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/t4-only-meds-dont-work/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ SkyTo: SKY JONES Sent: Mon, 25 January, 2010 10:40:32 PMSubject: Re: Re:Re: S. boulardii questionSky,I have it checked regularly because 1/2 of it was removed about 6-7 years ago. I have never had a free T3 test done though, so I do wonder if my T4 is getting converted properly. I may have to wait until the summer after our big move to have things re-evaluated. I am already scoping out sympathetic doctors! Because I have been on SCD for 1 1/2 years (eating 1 cup of SCD yogurt everyday) and still experience sinus headaches (plus some brain fog, fatigue, and a bit of muscle weakness) I am thinking that I might need an anti-fungal. I will see how things go on the s. boulardii for now, and keep the oil of oregano in mind if I don't have good improvement. However, taking a probiotic, which helps to restore the gut ecology, also influences the yeast levels throughout the body. The immune system also plays a role in dealing with the yeast levels in locations other than the intestines. So, yes, taking S. Boulardii or L. Acidophilus or eating our 24-hour yogurt will help deal with a yeast overgrowth. It also helps to adjust your food choices. And taking an antifungal, if your body tolerates it, will also help, if you feel your symptoms warrant it. Kim M.SCD 6 years See what's on at the movies in your area.
