Guest guest
It feels great and other than some stiffness at first I can move my jaw just as I did before. I am seven weeks post op from upper surgery to correct an open bite and it feels great to finally smile and have my front teeth come together. Also, I am sitting here having a sandwich for lunch and guess what, you got it, I can bite off pieces with my front teeth instead of having to tear the sandwich apart. It is so great. Good luck. > > I was wondering what it is like after surgery regarding your jaw > movement. Guest guest
Hi Tanja, I had a lower jaw advancement on Nov.5th to correct an open bite and overbite. I too thrust my jaw forward to compensate all the time till I was diagnosed with TMJ. That's when I noticed how my profile was off and how difficult it was to chew with only 4 teeth touching. Now that I'm 9 weeks post-op I am eating soft foods and so amazed at how easy it is to chew my food! And, I am really pleased with my new profile. My jaw mobility is almost back to what it was before the surgery. The other plus for me is that I had migraines before the surgery and since the surgery I haven't had any (just some tension headaches from the rubber band pressure). This is a big decision but one I'm glad that I made and went through with. Best of luck to You! > > I was wondering what it is like after surgery regarding your jaw > movement.
