Guest guest
To my fellow challenged smilers - I am experiencing the exact same thing, but its slowly getting better! I am three weeks post-op and have to make a serious effort to smile, and have even been practicing in the mirror (I know-WAY too much time on my hands!). My husband thinks its cute and my friends have acted like its normal but I feel the weirdest in public. I am normally a really friendly person and smile and say hi to people but now I don't do that because I am afraid I will scare them! There is still so much pressure and swelling in my cheeks and the front of my mouth that it feels like so much effort to push it all up into a smile. And because my mouth is wired shut, laughing is actually pretty painful and when my husband gets really funny I have to literally hold my lips off my teeth to laugh - ahhh, what a sexy recovery this has been ;0)... > > > > Hi, > > > > I had my surgery a week and a half ago (upper and lower) and I > don't > > know if it is just the swelling or what but when I smile I look > > ridiculous.
