Guest guest
That makes me worried that I have a yeast problem. I don't have any overt yeasty symptoms, and tolerate fruit/honey just fine. But I've been on LDN a month now, and feel no different then I did without it. I eat coconut oil and and garlic oil, but maybe it's not enough. Guest guest
Holly,My husband kind of feels that way too. We are taking s. boulardii (2 weeks now, so still working up on the dosage), to see if that helps. I am considering Oil of oregano for myself too. I think the coconut oil needs to be in the 3 TBSP/day range, I think, for it to be helpful. Are you eating it in that kind of quantity?AmeliaHusband UC 9 years, SCD 19monthsLDN 3mgFrom: spookyhurst To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Thu, January 28, 2010 7:25:33 AMSubject: Re: I am a YEAST MONGOR!!!!! Which isn't to say you do have it, just that that is not a symptom of yeast. I tolerate them fine too. > But I've been on LDN a month now, and feel no different then I did without it. I eat coconut oil and and garlic oil, but maybe it's not enough. Are you eating cheese? I think cheese is a biggy. For me at least. When I was on the steroids, I couldn't get enough of it - so now I know that was the yeasties controlling my brain, helping to trigger my really poor impulse control during that period. But if I were you, I would first do the spit test. BTW, I read of someone who first felt exhausted on LDN, and her doc prescribed zinc a few times a day - and then she had tons of energy. So she had to back off of the zinc. So if you try raising the amount of LDN again back to up 3.0 and still feel exhausted, you could try to supplement with zinc and see if that helps. But if I were you, I might inquire about your circumstances on one of the LDN lists where there is more info available. Mara, in NYC, where it is snowing. Guest guest
It's strange, whenever I did the spit test in the past, I passed with flying colors (even when I was on Humira). But when I did it the other day, I failed :-(. Strange, since I eat fewer carbs now then I used to. I eat a piece of cheese occasionally, but not daily. I have zinc in my multi, but maybe it's not enough. It also occurred to me that since I no longer digest veggies well (no symptoms, just the undigested food in stool), that it could be feeding yeast. I was fine with carrots and everything else from day 1 on SCD, but starting in Nov, I seemed to have lost my ability to digest them. I even added back enzymes, but it didn't help at all. My last Humira dose was in september, so maybe my body misses it. My massive fatigue from LDN is at least gone. I dropped from 4 mg to 2 mg (and have since gone back to 3 mg), and that took care of it. Now I just have my old regular fatigue ;-). I took garlic pills all last week, and yesterday switched to olive leaf extract. Maybe this will help kill any yeast still lurking around in my body.
