Guest guest
Tonight was a night I have dreamed about since I was 12 years old! Just joined a scuba diving class at the local community college. I have always wanted to do it but was too big for a wet suit and other diving equipment. Now 10 months post op and down 110 lbs I am finally in the water and realizing a dream. I am the oldest in the class but I really don't care. For once I can be in a bathing suit and not feel humiliated and like I need to go hide! I am sore in spots I din't even know existed but even that feels good because I know it is productive exercise. Who would have thought! Just wanted to post as a note of encouragement i never would have believed i could realize this dream in this lifetime. Even with the whopping medical bills hanging over my head I am sooooooooooo glad i did this. Thanks Lori & Sue for all your encouragement. To all those waiting and deciding keep believing in yourself because dreams really can come true with perserverance, patience and persistence. The best to all. B. Guest guest
, I tip my hat off to ya!! That is soooo exciting, I too have always wanted to go scuba diving and also hang gliding but my weight was always a restriction. I am 10 mos post op too and down 128lbs and now am able to start thinking about doing the things I've always wanted to do. I also have a 5wk old baby, so I'll have to wait just a little longer before actually being able to do these things. Feeling the excitement from your post makes me more motivated to have it become a reality! I can hardly wait now! Thanks for your encouragement!! Good luck on your classes and when you finally get to go out there, I'm sure it will be an experience of a lifetime.
