Guest guest
I havn't had,..and don't know if I will proceed with my upper jaw surgery..I'm considering it for a small aesthetic change, like having what I call a big " out smile " you knoe like all the actresses and people with big toothy wide smiles but alot of the factors involved realy freak me out!!! Can you feel the plates and screws in your jaw? And has anyone use reabsorbable ones? Thanks,
Guest guest
, Yeah...i can feel the plates in my jaw. they aren't noticeable by looking at me...but when i rub my face i can feel them. and my face still feels tight in the areas where the plates are...i have six plates across my upper jaw...just below my eye sockets...check out my x-ray...under Tom's Jaw Surgery...you'll see that they aren't like huge or anything. and that isn't meant to freak you out or anything. it honestly doesn't bother me at all. but like when i'm washing my face or rubbing my eyes or whatever...i can feel them. Guest guest
I have one plate and two wires on the lower jaw, but the only way I accepted to do the surgery is by getting assurance from the surgeon that I can remove them in 6 months post op. I dont want to live with them and I hear to remove them is not a huge operation, of course more expenses and invonvenice, risk of infection etc, but I dont want to have them once I heal. I also asked for resorpable material but my surgeon said they were not shown to be very steady so he didnt recommend them. He simply agreed once I heal totake out the titanium. > > > > I havn't had,..and don't know if I will proceed with my upper jaw > > surgery..I'm considering it for a small aesthetic change, like > > having what I call a big " out smile " you knoe like all the > actresses > > and people with big toothy wide smiles but alot of the factors > > involved realy freak me out!!!
