Guest guest
> Is there a possibility that I could tolerate the Cow's milk yogurt when I seem to have had an issue with the DCCC? I stopped eating it two days ago and all of a sudden felt much, much better. I was feeling extremely lethargic and almost like my legs and arms felt really heavy--also had some bad headaches, I couldn't think at all & my stomach wasn't feeling the greatest. I also stopped eating meat at the same time as the DCCC. At first I thought it was the large increase in meat I was eating causing problems, but I am now thinking it possibly was the DCCC. Is it possible to have issues with meat? It's possible to have issues with anything. But you should trial them separately just to be sure. > > I've been eating Goat's Milk yogurt but just made up my last batch with Whole Milk because the Goat's Milk is expensive & the yogurt was pretty runny. I'm confused about what to do now-- do I try the Cow's milk yogurt and see if the aches and pains come back (I'm nervous to do this since I finally feel better after 2-3 weeks of feeling pretty terrible since starting SCD) or should I stick to Goat's Milk for now? I feel GREAT now--head to toe. I'm also approaching the end of my 3rd week on SCD so this could possibly just be the end of an adjustment period or die-off (??) Thanks for any advice! You should try the regular yogurt. Just start with a small bit and work up - see how you react. Since you are now aware of a relationship between these two, you'll be super perceptive if you start to get a bad reaction. It's perfectly possible to react to cheese, but not to regular yogurt. Guest guest
Ok thanks!! I'll give it a try (with my fingers crossed). > > > Is there a possibility that I could tolerate the Cow's milk yogurt when I seem to have had an issue with the DCCC? Guest guest
Absolutely you could have an issue with meat. I mean, people can have an issue with anything really. I actually know 4 people who have UC-like symptoms anytime they eat meat (though one stopped having the problem when she got pregnant with her son - go figure!). And too much protein can cause problems. If you really want to eat DCCC or the cow's milk yogurt then it's probably a good idea just to try a little bit of one without the other to see if there is a reaction. But just a little bit so that if you do react to it, you lessen the impact. Then again if the goat's milk yogurt is working for you and you're feeling good, why not just continue with it? I think if I were in your position I would just stick to the stuff that's making me feel good but obviously it's up to you Stacey > > Is there a possibility that I could tolerate the Cow's milk yogurt when I seem to have had an issue with the DCCC? Guest guest
Ok, very interesting about the meat. Possibly I was just consuming more than my body could breakdown. I pretty much ate DCCC and meat for every meal and snack at first but now have stopped that and I am having a lot of vegetables (the one's that don't bother me). I actually tried some of the cow's milk yogurt last night and felt okay so I had a little more this morning. So far I feel pretty good, my stomach seems a tiny bit upset today, but the body and headaches haven't returned. I made up some goat's milk yogurt last night so I think I might stick with that for a while and in a couple weeks (after I have a steady period of feeling good) try it again and if that goes well, then try some of the DCCC again. Right now I feel very up and down with whether I feel okay or not so it's tough to tell. I appreciate the advice. Guest guest
I noticed that when I started SCD, I had a bad reaction to the homemade yogurt with cow's milk but not with goats milk. Then many months later I was able to do homemade yogurt with cow's milk. Barbara
