Yeah, you have a date!!!! This is how silly I am. I went in for my very first

evaluation and the office that I had to go to is in the hospital building. I

panicked a small amount just being in the hospital and knowing it was for me. I

have not been in the hospital in my life and it weirds me out. So I can only

imagine how panicked I will be when my date comes.

I have a DATE!!

It is May 18th! I was not nervous at all until I got my date then I

got nervous REAL fast. I would like to know what kind of machines and

tubes you had hooked to you when you woke up in recovery. And Was it

as bad as you thought it would be? I am having an open RNY.

Thanks for all the help!

Tara

I had surgery on 2/3/04 and I was not hooked up to any machines. My incision is

only about 6 inches long from open RNY and I had no stitches or staples. My Dr

used the new glue, it was wonderful. I had a drain bulb on my right side that

can out before I left the hospital. Some have a tube into their old stomach...I

did not have that. I have found out all Dr's do their surgeries different so

ask your Dr what to expect. I did have an IV for the morphine pump, which I

really didn't use.

Don't worry it's not as bad as you are thinking. I thought the worst was coming

home from the hospital, sitting around and not being able to eat. It use to be

when I would sit around I would eat. It is 7 weeks now and things are SO much

easier. Congratulations on the date!
