Guest guest
I had an upper endoscopy today (because of esophageal pain when I swallow large supplements) and it showed inflammation in the esophagus and stomach. I'll have to wait for the biopsy results for more clues about the cause. Anyway, my GI prescribed a proton pump inhibitor called AcipHex. I'm thinking I don't really want to reduce stomach acid because it's important for digestion and absorption of nutrients, and it helps kill off various germs. Has anyone been using meds like this? Or is there some other way to deal with esophagitis/gastritis? Debbie T (UC 29 yrs, SCD 10/06, Lialda)
