Guest guest
My wife had Lap Rny on March 18th. We are now 6 days post op. She seems to be doing pretty well. Not much pain or nausea. She is starting the " full Liquid diet " today and expects to stay on it for 2 weeks. While in the hospital the strangest thing has happened. The morning after the procedure she developed terrible pain in both her knees. I mean pain just to touch her knees. The surgeon said he had not experienced this before. After ultrasound and x rays proved negative, she met a reumotoligist. He said it was " sudo- gout? He said it was very common in people after surgery that was heavy and using certain Blood pressure meds. He could not treat her with the normal anti inflammatory drugs since she was not eating.so he gave her steroids by IV.within 24 hrs she dramatically improved and by the next day was walking to shower. She has been home now for 3 days and says that the leg pain is stating to come back, just not as bad. She will be taking the steroid foe a couple of more days. Has anyone heard of this happening before? I must say as far as the operation, everything seems fine at the moment. She knows she has a long process to go buy so far things are great.
