Hey- long time no see!

I haven't been here in a while, so I don't know if anyone who might

remember me is still on this site. lol, I just thought I'd pop in to

let anyone just heading into this experience know how mine went. I

had my lower jaw moved backward to correct an underbite and my bottom

wisdom teeth removed, this past June. 7 months later I am doing

GREAT. It really isn't as bad as you might think. No really bad pain-

and whenever I had any pain I had medicine that practically knocked

me out, so I was fine. My chin/lower lip was almost completely numb

for about 3 or 4 months. I think the feeling is back to about 90%

now. Occasionally if there's like a drop of liquid or a small piece

of food on my chin I don't notice it, but other than that I am

completely back to normal. My only complaint is that my braces aren't

off yet!! And it's supposed to be 2-3 months more!! GRRR! Anyway, you

can do this, and it really is worth it. I posted a pic of me before

and after- if you look under photos and click " show all " it's the one

near the bottom called " Comparison " The one on the left is about a

month before surgery, and the one on the right is 6 months post-op.

So, good luck to all entering surgery any time soon, and to those

having recently had surgery- the worst is over, it only gets better

from here! :)

Sincerely,
