Guest guest
you need to contact your insurance company to know what the exact cost will be to you. your OS should provide you with the information you need to submit to your insurance company. in fact, most offices will straighten out the insurance issues for you and then print you out a document breaking down the costs my surgery was $4000 out of pocket because the insurance wouldn't pay for the genioplasty ($3000). i don't know how much the hospital fees were, but it was all taken care of by insurance gina > > I met with an oral surgeon here (Dr. Riley) at the suggestion of my orthodontist. > > I'm trying to figure out the cost of this whole thing and also if/what insurance may cover. > I have BlueCross PPD (California). > > When I met with Dr. Riley, I asked him what the cost was, and he said that by far the > biggest cost was that of the hospital fees, which are (I am NOT making this up) $30,000 > per DAY. > > The surgery itself is about $9000 per jaw. Guest guest
I can't offer any advice on the insurance but as far as the figures that your OS gave you he is pretty accurate. I had upper surgery as a 24 hour outpatient (surgery at 1:00 p.m., stayed overnight and out the next day by 1:00). My hospital bill was $30,000 ($17,000 alone for " medical supplies " ), surgeons bill was approximately $8000 and anesthesiologist bill was $1800. As for the $17,000 in medical supplies I am sure that a large part of that was for the four titanium plates that were placed in my jaw. I manage supplies for a hospital and know that implants are very expensive. > > I met with an oral surgeon here (Dr.
