Guest guest
I researched them and my surgeon said she has used them but doesn't care for them as much. She feels they need to advance more in their technology. They are bulkier and bigger than the metal plates and screws, so in the beginning, before they dissolve, they may feel or look worse. My surgeon had a patient beg for them,so she used them, but then the patient couldn't stand that she could see and feel them through her skin, so she begged to have them removed before the reabsorbed. In general, being able to feel them or not depends on the thickness of your skin and where they are placed. I can't really feel mine, but I kind of make a conscious effort not to try. In the beginning they felt really tight, especially when the weather started getting cold, but not anymore. -- > > > > just wondering if the reabsorbable plates and screws eliminate the > chance of feeling the plate and screws in place after surgery.
