Guest guest
Hello My name is . I had the RNY on 1-13-04. I am 31 years old and just wanted a better life to break the bondage of food and diets. I am a 911 operator, so I tended to internalize the stress and sit on my growing behind as I helped everyone else and myself slowly dying because of obesity. I didn't have any problem getting approved, my BMI was 48 at 301lbs. Since the surgery, I have lost 40lbs, the size of a 4 or 5 year old child. I feel wonderful but I do get tired pretty fast and find that I need a nap during the day. I drink protein drinks called Achieve One, which are like coffee drinks containing 20grams of protein. I found these at a nutrition store called Tucks Nutrition. I have also found the websites Bariatriceating.com and Vitalady.com very useful during this journey. I have only been a bit nauseous usually after eating Chicken. I have not had any dumping yet, which I am thankful. I did eat 2 hershey kisses one day- talk about risks! I have enjoyed everyone I have meet who has had this surgery. During my last support group meeting, I met a few 911 operators from Orlando who told me about this website, it has been a valuable tool of information. It is nice to see so many wonderful people find support with each other. We truley can empathise with one another.
