I believe the strip of plastic across his forehead (not including the cap that went over his bulge) was about 2 inches wide, so definitely go smaller than that for letter stickers, if you want to put her name on it. Guest guest
Can I ask another question? Why do some bands go straight across the forehead, while others have another little rounded pieces that goes 'up' from the forehead, if that makes sense. Guest guest
Thank you!! Kim On Fri, Apr 17, 2009 at 7:40 PM, <nwilkens2275@...> wrote: I think CT calls them " caps. Generally speaking, a band that does not have a cap on the front, and comes up to cover across the back of the head (like Maysa, if there's a recent photo of her in the M folder), is a band designed to treat brachy. And generally speaking, the ones with caps, are primarily used for plagio. But if there's a combo of plagio and brachy, it will most likely look like a plagio band with caps. And some caps are big and some are small. My son had 3 (2 big, 1 small), some have 2. It's all costum made to fit the baby's head perfectly. Oh and a band made to treat schaphocephaly (longer than it is wide) usually is a full coverage helmet with no open spaces on top. Guest guest
Kim, Maysa's first DOC band had a cap in the front. Back then, the band was treating both her plagio and brachy. The second band she received in February only has one band in the front (where her name is spelled) but it covers more in the back of her head. This second band is targeted to treat her brachy. I have not posted any more pictures of Maysa in the M folder because I would be exceeding my quota. When we are done with treatment, I'll pick and choose the best ones to post as the ones I found there have been so helpful to me. You can go to Maysa's blog and look at the many pictures I posted of her in her flickr account and on the various posts. Leila, Maysa, 15 months old, 5 weeks left in DOC band 2 www.mymaysa.wordpress.com I think CT calls them "caps." It all depends on the baby's head shape and how they design the band to correct it.
