Guest guest
Hi Bob, I had my surgery 10 days ago and excactly the same thing happened to me. I got a cold 3 days before surgery and started to panic. I rang the Oral Surgeon to ask if it would make a difference and he said they cant really tell till the aneasthetist took a look at me on the day. I started taking large amounts of vitamin C and drinking loads of water and resting. The day came around and my head cold wasn't too bad, just a sniffle, no lung infection. The Oral Surgeon made me take some Otravine (a nasal decongestant spray)and the Aneasthetist didnt even ask me about it. The surgery went ahead and I found the only problem from the cold is that I am still quite conjested not only from the congealed blood in the nasal passages but from the phlegm in there too. Just makes it a lil uncomfortable for breathing, but I dont regret going ahead with it. If I were you I would try to get in touch with the OS on Monday and see what he says. Until then like everyone else says, vitamin C, rest, water and try not to panic. Good luck for next Tuesday.
