Guest guest
Every now and then, it's time to remind everyone about the things that make our list run as smoothly and pleasantly as it does. The latest concerns about replying to Digests prompted me to go ahead and put it in writing. I put it in a " rules " file which will get delivered automatically to the list on a monthly basis. I've pasted it in below. If anyone has any suggestions to add, please email me privately, okay? Thanks, in Austin List Moderator RNY April 1998 List rules & reminders: 1. No flaming is tolerated. 2. This is a primarily a WLS list. Religion & politics are not appropriate subjects. 3. Promotion of, or detraction from, any particular list members commercial undertakings is not permitted. Self-promotion should be limited to a discreet by-line or link beneath the members signature. 4. When replying to digests, all of the irrelevant digest must be deleted, with only the part being responded to remaining. Also, the subject line must be changed from " Digest XXX " to the appropriate subject. 5. Subject lines should clearly reflect the content of the message. 6. Completely " Off-Topic " posts that don't contribute to the camaraderie of the list or have anything to do with WLS aren't allowed. 7. Advice sought and delivered on this list is rich with personal experience, often beyond what we find with our health care providers. However, anything read on this list is absolutely NOT medical advice and should never be construed as such. 8. Information outside of these paramaters can, of course be shared privately at the discretion of the sender and the receiver since personal replies are allowed by Yahoo. 9. Any infraction of these rules may result in removal from the list or restriction from further posting.
